Bad Gratitude Monday: I Know Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar

I haven't done a Bad Gratitude Monday for a while. That doesn't mean I haven't had anything to be grateful for. It just means I've been distracted.

Today, I'm grateful for the innocence and honesty of toddlers.

In the span of five quiet minutes, Curlytop and Snugglebug managed to sneak every single cookie left over from the care package the church sent us into their precious little mouths. I didn't have to investigate the incident.

Curlytop came running into the laundry room, where I was, and yelled, "Mommy! I ate the COOKIES!"

On her heels was Snugglebug, who struck a tiger pose - both hands raised with "claw" fingers - and growled, "GRRRRR! I eat them ALL!"

The crumbs around their mouths would have been enough to convict them, but with two full confessions, forensics weren't necessary.

Oh, how I cherish these days of sweet honesty!

What are YOU grateful for?

  1. That is so completely sweet! What a lucky mama. Innocence has it's perks.
Grateful? Me? My glass of red wine, and a Pat McManus mystery, a papasan and a nice corner.

  2. Pat McManus writes mysteries?!!!!!

I've read his short story collections (Never Sniff a Gift Fish, They Shoot Canoes Don't They? and so on) but had no idea he'd written mysteries.

What are you reading? Any recommendations? Where should I start? How many has he written?

I have to go Google now... lalala
