Christmas in Montana

We're doing Christmas this year at my sister-in-law's home in the Yaak Valley of Montana. Christmas in Montana was supposed to happen last year, but a sudden blizzard prevented most of the family from making the trip. The Lord blessed us with good roads this year, so we were able to spend Christmas here:

One of those cows is employed full-time as a milk provider. As I chatted with my sister-in-law in the kitchen during the afternoons, it wasn't uncommon for a neighbor to come to the door with an empty gallon jar for their regular "fill up." Organic milk, fresh out of the cow!

The neighbors are pretty far away, but within "hollerin' distance."

My sister-in-law has a modern oven and stovetop, but also still uses this woodstove for baking, cooking, and heating the house.

(Never mind the bottle of wine that managed to sneak into the nativity...)

As we celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ, be blessed. Be happy. Be safe. Be comforted. Be well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  2. It's definitely a different world up there. Beautiful. Isolated, but beautiful.

Hope your Christmas was filled with love and joy. Happy New Year!
